EBAY POWERSELLERS AND HOW TO BECOME ONE

Posted by ebayprofitmaster on April 27, 2010

EBay PowerSellers are the people on eBay that have actually achieved a high degree of success, and you can always recognise who they are by the badge which is next to their username. To achieve the success on eBay that they have, you need to think the way they do.

People become EBay PowerSellers when they have a feedback rating of at least 100 (minimum 98% positive) and sell at least $1,000 worth of items every month for three months in a row. Some EBay powersellers are selling much more than that of course (into the hundreds of thousands of dollars each month, and these people are known as titanium powersellers).

The seller will lose their powerseller status if they do not keep up the good standards they have previously set. Almost all EBay powersellers would not want to do anything to risk their powerseller status, and so you will be very unlikely to ever have trouble dealing with a powerseller.

EBay PowerSellers do not think of what they do as a mere hobby. Instead, they consider what they are doing on eBay as a business. It is their primary source of income. Once they have reached this level they are unlikely to have a traditional job in addition to their eBay activities.

EBay PowerSellers manage their business in much the same way as a supermarket would. They will pretty much be selling the exact same things week in and week out. They will sell the same stock for the same customers. They do all the traditional business things like keep an inventory of stock and maintain a budget.

They know what they will sell, how much they will purchase the item for and how much they will be selling it for. As with a bricks and mortar store there will be times where they will struggle somewhat making sales, and they may have to push discounts harder than they would like, but their income is fairly predictable and their business can grow slowly.

An EBay PowerSeller will always follow the advice I have left in previous posts, and will run their business according to the best strategies of customer care and reputation management. They would never take a risk with their reputation just to make cash online. They would not adopt dodgy selling practices, and over time they would develop their business.

Again, you should be using eBay to further the expansion of other businesses you may have. Many people visit eBay each day, and so the potential to advertise your other business should not be ignored. In fact next time we will look at using eBay for the benefit of your other businesses.
