THE 9 STEPS NEEDED TO BE A SUCCESSFUL EBAY SELLER

Posted by ebayprofitmaster on April 6, 2010

You will soon begin to notice a pattern in my blog posts. You will notice that some of what I post has been posted before. This is simply because if something is worth saying, it’s probably worth repeating. If you want to sell successfully on eBay, then it’s worth repeating certain statements made earlier as a guide to being a better seller.

So here are ten steps to improved eBay sales.

1: Choose your niche market. Take your time to choose the items that sell well out of all the ones you have an interest in. The market research data you gather now will be very useful to you later. You will quickly learn which items will be a good choice for you.

2: Keep an eye on your competitors. Always see what your competitors are up to before you spend any money on products for your own business. If there is money to be made in a niche you need to know about it before it costs you anything, and always learn from any mistakes your competitors are making so that you can be a better seller than they are.

3: Get products: Try to get the products you want to sell at the best price you can by searching all the suppliers available to you, and don’t be surprised if it seems to take a bit of time and effort before you finally get a good deal. You just need to be able to buy for a lower price than you can sell for to start making money.

4: Start off a little at a time: Don’t invest too much at the very beginning, so that you can recover from any mistakes and learn what works and what doesn’t. It does not cost much money to try and sell any product you can get a supplier for.

5: Keep testing to improve. Try different things to improve your results, and when you find something that works make as much money from it as you can, and do the same thing as often as you can. Someone else may eventually spot your niche market and then there will be extra competition.

6: Invest and grow your business: Now you should invest as much as you can into your business, because you know it is working. Buy as many of the products that you are selling as you can and constantly try to improve your sales.

7: Automate your sales: You will notice that most of the time you are doing the same things over and over, because you are selling the same things over and over. This is the time to try and get as many aspects of your business automated as you can, to save your precious time and allow more time for making money.

8: Register your business: Once you start to make thousands of dollars in profit you should then register as a business seller and seek the help of a lawyer to guide you.
This stage is nothing to worry about until you are making thousands in profit, so do the money making bit now!

9: Never, ever give up: Even if everything seems to be going wrong, don’t stop trying. As long as you don’t give up you can make it work, and you will often find that you make a big improvement at times of desperation.

When you really get moving on eBay and the sales start coming in thick and fast, you might think that it’s a good time to jack in your job and become a full time eBay seller. But this is not always as easy as you think its going to be, and next time I am going to take a look at reasons for and against being a full time eBay seller.
