WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU START SELLING ON EBAY

First things first, what should you sell.

You need to know what it is you want to sell: what will become your speciality.

You will improve your chances of selling with eBay if you become known as an excellent source for certain kind of products, as those with an interest in those items will become repeat customers.

Another important aspect to consider is to always sell products you understand.

You are very unlikely to be able to write a good description and sell for a good price, if you do not understand or even have an interest in the products you are selling.

To find products which you have an interest in simply consider what you buy yourself on a regular basis (or consider watching my videos on eBay product research, available from my youtube channel on my “about” page above left)

You then need to consider which products you are interested in which you can actually purchase for a good enough price to allow you to resell for a decent profit, and their suitability for postage.

(A perfect item would be something small, light weight, cheap to get hold of, sells for a high price and you have an interest in – think info products!)

Tax and the legality of your sales.

Once you begin earning enough money, you are going to start paying tax on your earnings – this is something which is not completed for you.

If you decide to start selling on eBay full time, you would probably be better off registering as a business.

There will be good and bad times when selling one eBay, so just don’t give up when all goes wrong!

If eventually you decide that eBay is not for you, then the initial setup costs are so low that you will not have lost any money.
